has anyone used behringer mics, specifically the b-2 pro? what did you think?
thanks, ben

From what I've heard of it you'd be better of with studioprojects, for the same money. Never really liked a behringer mic except the ecm8000 but that's another story.

You can get the SP b1 new for around $100 on evilbay
If you want switchable patterns, get the SP b3 for $160

good luck

btw, you'll get more answers to such question in the "microphones" forum

Yes. I just sold 2 B2's because they over emphasize the higher freqeuncies to make up for a lack of warmth. This is another example of a company not putting enough time into R&D before releasing it at a rock bottom price point.

One caveat: If you are currently using just say, an sm57 for everything, you might find that the B2 is a great leap towards what you want. But i agree witht he last member, studio projects are better en mass than behringer's microphones.

Speaking of the ECM8000s, I bought one to see if I liked it alone before buynig a pair, but kept getting BG noise. I took it back and bought different mics.

I know they are omnis, and so the room sound would have to be good, but I was looking at them for overheads. What do you use them for, and how do you like them?

By the way, I know this would be better in the "Microphones" forum--but hey, the thread's already here, right? :D

I use my AKG Omni for a wide variety. We use it when we re-amp guitars. I use it 40-50 feet away and in another room from the drum kit to get an enormous drum sound that i can mix in varying amounts. Omnis are useful for sure.

Instead of the behringer, consider Studioprojects mics. theyre much better in quality. if you want an all-purpose mic, try the studioprojects C-1.

I've never used Studio Projects. We use rode, AKG Omni, and Shure 2m57's, plus our speaker mic's. I've heard better things about Studio Projects than Behringer

Mine is quiet enough. Not too guiet but it works, even for acc git.

To be honest I'm mostly using it as a talkback mic because it fits nicely in my mixers xlrs :D

But I've used it on ac guitars, OH's and as a room mic. Although they're not GREAT they sound very decent for $50. They don't even sound too bad on a hihat or snare but they're omni's so whatch out for bleed ... It might be ok if you can get'm close enough. It all depends on the room offcourse.

I've heard the noise issue has lots to do with Behringer QC. I've heard many people complain about the noise.

thanks so much for the info

thanks guys, for responding, i think im going to steer clear of the behringer mics for now. my initial interest was because i work at a record store that carries behringer so i could get them for even cheaper than cheap. thyanks again,

If you can get them cheaper than cheap, maybe you could turn a few of em around and use the money for better mics.

I'm with you Travis....my intial response would have been " yeah, my wife digs my 24" penis, but I only use it at certain times during secks." I guess if you have the right floor plan and your studio is 50' in length, which is not unreasonable, you could have an 'alley' non-divided. But if someone is claiming to have 40' rooms, I think I would have to request pictures for proof, not that I don't believe ya know. ;)
