Behringer Gear That Works

The FX in the Pod xt are way better than the V-Amp but the amp models in the V-Amp are 100 times better than the XT. The Pods sound like they took the same 3 amp models and changed them slightly to create their so called wide assortment of amps.

i thought the same thing about the v-amp after i heard the podxt...

but i guess its really just subjective.

Anybody use their mixers? I mean the newer ones.

I had a friend who worked at a post production/audio sweetening facility that bought one of the Eurodesks (Mackie clove) and he said it was worthless.

I've been looking at the new 24 & 32 channel boards that have effects and some people say they're actually pretty good.

Any opinions?

I love my Bugera 333 head that being said I have not heard ENGL, Bogner, Diezel, and the like but I have heard others in bugeras price range Epiphone So Cal, Peavey 5150, Peavey Valveking and in my opinion the Bugera 333 tops those. I opened her up and she seems pretty ok inside nice solder points there nice and clean no weird electrical problems or microphonic tubes maybe Im just lucky.

Lets talk straight Behringer is by far not the best gear outhere, but lets be honest, it sounds decent, and its cheap, it wasnt designed to be awesomely great, it was meant to give people with a reduced budget some quality gear, and i think they do a great job at Behringer. I own an MX9000 and its Ok (again its not awesome as my MCI JH-500 but its worth 10% of it)

I have the Xenyx 2442FX.

I like it. It's been plenty reliable and just has massive amount of routing options for a small mixer. I don't find it to be too noisy if you don't push the gain too far. The preamps are just so - so but useable.
I'm really happy with it and would recommend it to anyone. 8 direct outs and 4 subgroups make it a really flexible mixer for a home studio. You'll have to ask someone else about the built in effects though. I've never used them. Kinda assumed they were crap since that's been the case with most mixers onboard effects in my experience.

Love my Vamp Pro. Great for clean tones. Much better sounding than the Pod.

I find the Behringer Composer gates/compressors are perfectly good for live work, although the Alesis 3630 is probably a better buy.

The Behringer power amps (EP1500 and EP2500) are also surprisingly good. I've recently done a small gig using a rack of EP2500s and they were brilliant (i.e. you set them up and didn't have to worry about them not being powerful enough, exploding, etc).

Hello Folks,
I'm just experimenting with a reverseal of intentions. I thought it might be instructive and useful to nominate and comment upon Behri gear that works as described and is value for money.
Any offers?

The last thing I used was the Behringer MX8000 24/48 in 8 bus mixer from 1997. It was made in Germany and was actually a good useable board with great routing options. It was the original Mackie copy. I still have it and it still works 100%.

Worth mentioning that Alex Lifeson of Rush uses Behringer gear on the road.

I saw a shot of his home studio a few years back and saw a fair bit of Behringer in there as well.

I run a Vox Tonelab into a Composer Pro MDX2200 for recording guitar direct. Works great.

I have a UB2442FX -Pro, my first behri purchase 6 years ago and it's still running like a charm. I also have a UB1204, neither compare to my Mackie for warmth and tone, but then neither of them cost near as much!
PMP518 - crap - sent it back.
Virtualizer Pro - perfect for my use.
Truth B2031's - rock solid.
Deq2496 - Exscellent - but a bit complicated
GEQ3110 - Not so good

For a hobbiest with no real aim or purpose - I like behringer equipment.

Behri Blues Over Drive

I have the BOD.
It's not bad - it does what it is supposed to & isn't meant to be the shredders 1st tool - cranked up it's very harsh & unpleasant.
Dialed in with the aim of getting a nice o'drive sound - & combined with a tube amp - its sound really good.
It's not very solid & I REALLY dislike the battery access rigmarole.

2 items of berri gear

The only pieces I have are

A LC2412 lighting controller that runs 24ch of lighting.
It works great lots of options.

and a Composer Pro-XL model MDX 2600 compressor / limiter / gate

The 2600 is always on and its used to stop over modulation of a small FM transmitter I use on our property so I can listen to music any were
had it now for 3 years plus and no issues.

Home studio musician. Playing all instruments except percussion. I use Beta Monkey acoustic loops. Though, I have faked a bodhran with a mic laid on a mouse pad and thumbs doing the work and recently copped a Boss DR5. Casio keyboard. Guitars; '05 Gretsch 6119TR, 02 Rickenbacker 360/12FG, Guild - 80 D212 - 76 F212- 74 D25/6, Fender - 89 Strat. Bass; '78 Fender Musicmaster and 02 JB SledgeHammer. Plus banjo, resonator, mandolin, penny whistle and harmonica... only if needed. ;)

Beri - UB1204 Mixer
Beri - Xenyx 1222FX Mixer
Beri - MDX 1600 Compressor
Beri - EX 3200 Enhancer

Getting ready to trade out the x1222FX to a Xenyx 1622FX for more routing options. As well, ordering the Beri FBQ1502 EQ rack mount. Mic's are non-beri. I can't compare to other manufacturer devices as I haven't had any. No need. Behringer has been just fine for me for what I do in my home studio. No problems and the Behringer products I have perform exactly as advertised and exactly as they are supposed to perform.

Inexpensive? Yes.
Adequate? Yes.
Cover the bases? Yes.
Quarter million dollar studio hardware? No.
On a tight budget? Behringer works.

Mic's include Nady, MXL and EV Cobalt instrument and vocal mics.

Monitor/Mix with Audio Technica M40fs cans.

I dont like the idea of it in the signal path...I have thier headphone amp...but one of the inputs didnt work.

Wow, another thread that will not die! I still use the VAMP 2 , the Bass Vamp Pro, ADA8000, and ECM8000. None of them have ever given me a bit of trouble, and they have all exceeded any reasonable expectations at their price point.-Richie

I have a Behringer Xenx 802 and really love it. I was pleasantly suprised when I brought it, but having said that I also brought the Behri 1202 thinking it would be he same but obviously with more features. Well the extra features are great but the sound quality was no where near as good as the 802 .

It seems like Behringer is a hit and miss game, sometimes you may strke gold.
And sometimes not. lol.
