I know this is an unsolicited product recommendation (in particular given that it is Behringer - but perhaps someone may want this info. Candidly, I don't think I've ever offered an unsolicited gear opinion on this site in the 4 years I've been here.

I just bought one of these. The price had dropped to $99, but due to a mixup with the sales guy (he was suppose to put one on hold, but someone sold the last one) - he let me have a demo (they just put it out 2 days prior) for $80 (it still looks new and has all the paperwork, original box, etc.)

This little box provides several very decent amp simulations. The effects aren't very good - but I got this for the bass amps not the F/X. The plastic box is very cheap (but I got this for my studio not for the stage).

It also provides some guitar amps, a couple of "keyboard" amps and a couple of accoustic guitar simulations - none of which I've even tried - I simply wanted the bass amps.

I know many people here bash Behringer. Personally I have had decent results with a few B items (I'm very selective which B items I even try) - but this Bass V-Amp is fairly impressive. I use a POD for direct guitar recording, so I understand the "compromise" involved with amp simulation - but this little bad boy has by far surpassed my expectations.

I've run a Mexi Jazz Bass, a low cost Yamaha and some bass samples from a keyboard - in every case I could find a couple of amps that really gave the source sound a good, fat identity. Some amps have more noise than others, but if I can recall those amps, they did have some noise, and while you would think digital technology could eliminate that, I can certainly live with it (that's why God created noise gates).

Use this info for what it's worth.
