FTR, Nikes are made in the Third World by folks wearing diapers and living in slave conditions.

I know the 9024 I have will sell for about 1/4 (if that) of what I paid for it

Wrong! Please don't do that, there are people all over the world that regard the 9024 as something very special, I got $250 for mine, without ever posting it on e-bay.

Just FYI.

I, like many others, started with a lot of Behringer gear, and aside from a mixer that lost one output channel, I had excellent luck, now that I don't use Behringer much, I find I spent more $ just to NOT have Behringer!
No difference in sound, or convenience, just more money spent so I didn't have to explain my Behringer gear to my hoity toity musician friends.

Pay no attention to people who bash your gear, just have fun with the learning curve, and make music as best you can.

That way, when you do insult him, he's a mile away....and you've got his shoes!!!!

I have never owned Behringer equipment but I certainly looked into it. It seems they do offer rock bottom prices for new gear. While I am well aware that you get what you pay for, I am also well aware that making good art and/or having fun is not in any way related to the cost of the art supplies. The only reason I didn't go with Behr is that it didn't have the features I needed.

Professionals who use their equipment every day to earn a living always hate the entry level stuff, that is normal in any field that uses technology.

Not all Behringer products are crap, but much of it is. I still own a little Behringer Eurorack that I plug into a small amp for when we do live performances at Libraries or small community rooms. I still use my Behringer head phone amp for recording and it works just fine. I find that most of the Behringer products are way too noisy to use in any part of my recording chain. Rather than spend the money on a Behringer mixer, you can add only a couple of bucks to that and go for a Yamaha MG.

Most of us here might be a bit brash about our condemnation of certain products, but that's because we've had a lot of experience with them and many of those experiences are bad. It's kind of hard to hold your opinion when what should have gone well didn't because of bad equipment. Sorry if anyone got their feelings hurt, but if we scared anybody away from the bad products and towards better products, in the long run, we've done you a favor (but perhaps not in the nicest "touchy/feely" kind of way). ;)

I've heard some of their early circuit boards were so copied they actually had the Mackie logo etched on the board. :D

That's how urban myths start: "I've heard", "someone told me", "they say that . . ."

Over here in Oz, the price of gear has been ridiculous, up until recently certain brand gear was the only option. one day I'll have no behringer gear, but thats the future. It could be worse.
