I have some left over 703. I often see foam behind moniters in pictures and less frequently 703 or similar pannels. Many times i also see nothing. Its been hard to find any info for me, sorry if this has come up alot. I was thinking i could build 2 2x4x2in pannels behind each moniter. I really can't make them thicker as i can't afford to move my desk back more. I assume that 2in should be good for some high end reflections. My room is about 11X13, not perfectly rectangular. Good idea? Bad idea? Totally clueless here :o :D

Ok, i made a panel since i got bored and had the supplies. It sounds better to me. Nothing drastic, not that any single panel has made a huge difference. I'm just hoping I'm going in the right direction. The low end seems more defined, the mid range stayed about the same and the high end is a bit more pronounced. Well, the high end might be about the same, it's probably just the low end that has changed giving that illusion. I just want to make sure i'm going in the right direction with this.

Mine are about a foot behind the monitors, which are on stands. My traps are 2'x4'x4" as going with 2" thick didn't do the job as well. I didn't have 703, but something with similar sound absorption coefficients to 705.

There is definitely an audible difference with them in that location.
