New to this forum, so first thing is to introduce myself.
my name's Olivier I live in London although being French and do produce electronic music (or at least I'm trying). Having been classicaly trained (15 years in a music school, learning classical violin) my music is focused on experimentation on and complementarity of rythm vs. harmony
Like most home recording musicians, I have grown my own home studio over the years (started it all back in '96). I chose to base it around a proper mixture of old school gear (Ensoniq ASR10, Roland Juno60, even my old violin, analog outboard, etc.) and digital technology (effects, sequencing, etc.).
Having worked on my music during most of my free time (not a lot that is, between job, girlfriend, friends, holidays, family etc.) it took me quite a while before beginning to be satisfied. I'm now at a stage where I feel more and more confident about my production.
The sort of music I do want to produce is quite laid back and atmospheric although I keep an eye on what's happening in the more dancefloor-orientated production (being a resident DJ in a local club). Influences are very broad , from classical music to jazz, rare groove and funk. My favorite artists of the moment would be Herbie Hancock's old stuff, Volker Meitz, Modaji, DJ Vadim, Kid Koala, Plaid, Howie B but this is a constently evolving thing as I am quite a bit of a vynil junkie (I buy between 10 and 30 vynils a month)
I would really appreciate your feedbacks from a very technical point of view. But feel free to flame me and give artistic opinions.
I'm quite ready to be offended as anyone should be in the music industry !!!
some tracks here are quite old so I would really appreciate you giving me more feedbacks on the latest productions :
Also feel free to check www.luminaweb.com
this is my "crew" website. Taho is Lumina's head and you can find our music on the mp3 section
Cheers gentlemen,
Olivier Tison
