I really liked the song. I like your singing voice. A couple of pitchy notes here and there, so watch out for those.

Is it me or is the mix a little heavy on the left side? Seems like it.

Guitar I think could be a little fuller I think. In a mix like this an acoustic guitar can have a fairly strong low end - like in the 100hz - 250hz range. A stereo guitar recording would be perfect for a simple mix like this.

The hand claps were a good idea. I don't how many tracks of them there were, but I'd spread them out if you could. The mix is very narrow.

ok buddy thanks i'll change some of those, thanks for listening to it!

Agree that the guitar can be fuller. It doesn't have to be stereo. Try a different placement, I don't know what you used so I can't recommend a new position. You can also add bass if you want, I think it sounds fine even without drums. I like the claps, but maybe you could use more to make it sound fuller, or use some reverb to back them up a bit.

Vocals sound cool, a little pitchy in a few spots, but I wouldn't care about that just listening for fun.

cool song. nice voice.

Good song, but was hoping it was about that Cheech And Chang movie up in smoke. Because there is a scene in the movie where the undercover cops use the code phrase "Shoot The Moon!". It lured me into listening, but was disappointed when it turned out to be about your best mates bedroom floor.

Cool tune, though hahah.

The song itself is a good concept. The guitars, like others are saying, could've used a bit more depth, but the quality of the vocal recording sounded spot on.

A recommendation i can give you on singing is this: I used to have similar lack of control trying to get from my chest voice to my head voice. (these are different muscle patterns, not actually different voices!) You're singing a lot of your high (and pitch-y notes) with your chest voice, which is causing you to miss the notes. Practice won't help unless you know what you're doing.

Luckily it's not a mystery. The exercises by Seth Riggs are highly recommended, check out the book "Singing for the stars" it was recommended to me by my voice teacher and it helped a great deal. I had EXACTLY the same issue when i started, but now i'm *ehem* self-proclaimed much better :P

In fact, I just uploaded a song in this thread: https://homerecording.com/bbs/gener...lectro-pop-song-completely-home-grown-330992/
Check out the transition from my lower notes to the chorus at 0:36 "There were mistakes that we made then" goes from chest to head voice.
