So i'm making an album of covers using friends and co-workers on vocals. Just recorded this one, it's a cover of "Something" by the Beatles. Recorded into pro tools using an mbox2. I had a tough time getting the bass to sound big without rattling the walls. My ears are shot for the day, let me know if theres any glaring issues. Thanks!

Drums are very boring, the song has more drive despite its mellow tone. The bridge is dry/empty no real dynamic change. My 2 cents.

IMO I think the vox lack the passion that George had in the song. The song overall was OK though. Sorry, when it comes to The Beatles I'm a critic I guess.

I found it very listenable. Is that a word? I don't like to critique a performance but to stay more technical with the method, mixing etc. That said, I did think the performances were above par and the harmonies done very well.

I've heard a lot of covers over the years and I say this one is right up at the top. As for the mix, you did a fine job. I especially like the blend of vocals to music, especially getting the vocals to sit right.

Probably the weakest part is the drums, but they are also the most difficult (I find) to do.

Me like:)

Thanks for the replies. Re-did the drums and reposted.

Too much drums now?
