Heavy Metal Beatles....great stuff, fresh and really, really well recorded.

How do you get that steroid-guitar groove? I love it, like clean-distortion?

Gosh man,...

That's great!

You guys all blow me away!... (and I mean that!)

All you guys!

(Like my font?);)

I hope that's not a typo.....

and you do mean FONT not FRONT!!! :D :D :D

Nice Font Though!!

Haha, davemania loves them big ol' fonts. He's a master of conveying excitement through text. Nice cover of flying, btw. Different, in a cool kinda way.

Thanks muchly. The guitars were recorded direct. A schecter c-1 elite into a mixer and then into an m-audio audiophile 192. The tone comes from simulanalog's jcm900 plug, with the BBE sonic maximizer plug before it. Then I also layered 4 tracks of guitar to thicken it up.

The only reason I generally record direct is because of the odd hours I record. My neighbors are thankful. :D

Yeah, that!!

I got sick of the size 7 font, so I switched back to size 4. It seemed apropriate, since I'm not doin' any real blockbuster stuff, like y'all are doing.

"Flying" was recorded in 1983 on the Tascam 244, but the version up on Soundclick was dubbed directly off an old mixdown cassette, which had deteriorated pretty badly. That's the phasey sound in the drums: (tape wear). For "Flying" to be a song that's basically about a psychedelic trip, I thought the "phasey" distortion was acceptable & actually rather fitting. (YMMV).

Anyway, it is what it is, and I am what I am.

Thanx much for your kind words and continued listening!

"I'll be back" (heh) with something else, someday real soon!!

Rickson,

Nice guitar tone...you nailed that feedback at the beginning perfect. Here's another I did that I thought the guitar tone came out pretty close. Let me know what you think. Have a great day!!

yeah sounds good. nice harmonies too:) youre using a strat right? thats what george used. with this version of I Feel Fine I try to stay as authentic as possible with the instruments.

Man, 83. The only thing I had to record on in the 80's was one of these bad boys:

I'd sit and record the intro to Metallica's Fade to Black on my super cool "state of the art" les paul copy. Then I'd sit and play the lead with my high quality backing track. All through my Gorilla 15 watt amp with my DOD supra distortion pedal.

Man, I was pimpin' back then.

You've come a long way,...

Baby!................ ;)

PS: that deck looks strangely familiar. I think I had one of those in the early/mid 70's!!

Track Rat....

Nice job on I Me Mine!!! I love that song. Gave me some ideas. Here's one of the many Beatles songs I've recorded. I didn't have an electric 12 string so I played two guitar track an octave apart and it came out great....I think. Check it out. I recorded this in about 1993 on my 388. I'm playing all the instruments and doing all the vocals.

Aerosmith did a great cover of I'm Down. Sort of a Beatles with Marshall's version. :D
One of the local fave's in the Beatles part of our local jam night
Everyone who can't play, loves to come up and do the backing vocals.

I do believe that I've enjoyed this thread more than any other on this BBS

AFAIC, there is no better endorsement you can get on this board!! ;)

I went through this thread giving out green chicklets like they were candy, cause you all deserve lots of little green candies for making with the covers. Cause they're all fun and stuff.

If anyone's sick of this thread being bumped, fret not, for this is for really real my last one... for a month or so anyway.:D

oh! darling
