are you sure you didn't just sing over a bootleg?
Nah. Couldn't find one. Had to make my own. :)

Thanks for the listen!

I've been doing Beatles covers in the comfort of my own garage. I play and sing all the sounds and get a lot of enjoyment out of it - and I thought it was only me!

I use a Fender Stratocaster, Morgan Bass, Ibanez Acoustic, Marshall MG30 watt amplifier, Line 6 POD 2.0, a Fostex DMT 8 track digital recorder, tambourine, Casio keyboard, sennheiser microphone, hand claps and shoved into Goldwave software mainly for fading out tracks.

Here's my version of Rain - Enjoy!

I really like your vocals on this...nice job!!

Since this thread has been revived (OK, it was never really dead!), I'll throw this one to the wolves. It's hot off the computer:

For No One

Happy listening,

Cool! Keys sound great.

Thought I would get in on the fun...although this one is nowhere near the talent of the other Beatle tunes I have heard in this thread.I play in a 3piece classic rock cover band, and the other night we decided to jam on "Tomorrow Never Knows", kinda in our own way.One of my Favorite bands, Govt Mule , often jams to this tune in concert and that is were we got our inspiration. It's nothing like the original...but its kinda psychedelic if your into that sorta thing.

Tomorrow Never Knows

I really enjoyed your live version of Tomorrow Never Knows - good job

There are two camps either we strive to get as close to the original (a sort of musical nirvana) complete with mimicing mistakes on the original or we attack it with a different arrangement. Whilst there is some merit in the former from a musicianship point of view I prefer to do the latter. At least there is some creativity on the musicans part.

Here's my version of Here There and EveryWhere, which totally contradicts what I just said :D

Trouble with this was I like playing it in the original key so my voice struggles a bit at the top end. Plus I generally prefer to sing Lennon songs as his range is much narrower than McCartneys

Very nice. I like the way you sing "eyes" in "...and in her eyes you see nothing...", and the way the bass sounds when it comes in on the 2nd verse (I think that would be its strongest entrance and if it were me I'd leave it out of the chorus preceding it, but just my own taste, the arrangement's very good).

Hey this has the same descending bass line at the opening as Kafer's Beatle-like "The Ledge" if anybody remembers that tune.

Tomorrow Never Knows
I can see the swirling paisley/tie-dyed light show on the wall behind the band.

Nice... the vocal is kind of Lennon-ish.

The arrangement pretty much a note-for-note transcription of the original, so the credit for that must go to Sirs McCartney and Martin.

That fact did occur to me. :)

I agree with you. However, I believe that there is value in this sort of mimicry if one approaches it like an art student copying one of the Old Masters' paintings. I learned an awful lot about this recording in the process of remaking it. In particular, avoiding a mechanical feel, and preserving the looseness and spontaneity of the original, was quite a challenge.

On a side note, I think this is one of Macca's strongest songs (lyrically, anyway). My 16-year-old daughter sat listening as I played and sang it at the living room piano; afterward, she said, "I wish I could write songs like that!"

... Me, too.

Don't we all?!?!?! ;)

If it don't bother you, it...

Don't Bother Me!

... by George Harrison. Recorded in 1983 on the Tascam 244 @ 2x-Speed/dbx using Tascam mics, an Ibanez Blazer and Fender Champ. The lead effect is an empty room,... back before the days of furniture! ;)

I forgot I had this one lying around for a while!

Hey Bulldog! ;)

Recording began on 2/27/00 and was updated thru 6/3/00, using the Tascam 38/M-30 system and featuring the 12-string Danelectro DC-12 on lead.

Here's one of the older Beatle's Songs that I recorded back in the summer of 2004. Wish I could go back and change the ending but I don't have a mixer anymore. Gotta find a decent one on a budget. Since the vocal cords have gotten flabby it's hard to hit the notes anymore. But here goes.

Could not play hifi stream. Having trouble with NoWhere, somtimes.

Gofigure. ;)

It plays for me. A little bit of hiss but oh well. I like the simplicity of the arrangement. Pretty cool sir.

Recorded this just now after I saw this thread. :)

Just woke up not too long ago, and my guitar is buzzing like crazy for some reason, but oh well.
