I love playing guitar through one.

Indeed! I have a motion sound guitar amp - pretty
cool, except it doesn't have that intense doppler like a real Leslie horn. The simulator on the Roland Combo Organ that I used on "Old Brown Shoe" is pretty darn good....especially since there's nothing to mic!

Okay, I'm only on page 6 of this thread, so I don't know if anyone else has done this one. I'll catch up over the next day, this thread is really fun.

I especially like the Strawberry Fields Forever and the Lady Madonna, great stuff!

I listen to Tomorrow Never Knows from time to time and wonder how Paul and Ringo got such a fat sound out of just drums and bass. And, of course, I had to try it for myself at some point...

Tomorrow Never Knows:

No surprise, much thinner than Beatles!

That Ringo can drop a fat beat when he wants to!

I Will

Had forgotten about this track from a few years ago. Didn't know much about recording then, or have very good gear, so it's noisy. I'm not much of a singer, so the intonation's a little inconsistent too.

I had just gotten home from a late gig, and it was just before Valentine's day. I was thinking about how great my wife is, kind of like that Kenny Rogers song, She Believes in Me. So I recorded this and gave it to her along with the other present I had bought.

Didn't think I'd ever let anybody else hear it.

Tim

Tim...wow. I've listened to a lot of your stuff...you never fail to amaze me. Wow.

Thanks to the guys who took the time to comment on mine. I haven't commented on individual tracks posted, because well, I'm lazy... but they're really all good. I've listened to them all and haven't yet come across one I thought was bad. I can never get enough Beatles music, though, so if anyone is reading and hasn't shared one yet, get to it already!

These are all really great sounding tunes. What did you do to the vocal in Strawberry Fields to make it sound like that? It blew me away!

warrengtype, I don't know how but I missed these. I swear, I like you're Maybe I'm Amased better than the original. Excellent take on the tune.
Sgt. Pepper also outstanding version. I like your approach.

smtcharlie – spacey Tomorrow Never Knows. Some backwards stuff in there? …watch out man, don't you know that backwards music can open the portal for Satan’s incarnation as a building-sized monster that’ll destroy the earth. Very pretty gtr tones.

Hawk Studio – thanks

guitarfreak12 – commented in the song's other thread… nice work.

Tim, very nice tune. Actually had more of a Simon and Garfunkel type vibe to me. Very well done. I thought it sounded very smooth, and your singing is pretty good.
Well done.

smtcharlie...cool version. I like the way the vocals sound. Very cool on this. That is what I was looking to do, and missed. Drums actually sound pretty cool this way.
Nice tune.

Were you talking to me or Tim?

Aww crap, I forgot about this thread. Here's that Norwegian Wood cover I said I wasn't sure about posting. Please excuse the vocals, I'm not really a singer, and I didn't have that great a sense of pitch back then either.

I should really get around to completing another song, rather than little pieces of songs on which I experiment.

Great idea for a thread. You all really rock. I can't comment on all of the individual stuff because I'm too lazy to backtrack. I've spent the last 2 hours just listening.

Thanks everyone.

Man...all these great versions of one of my favroite bands...I just had to get in on the action, although my stuff is pretty lame compared to what I've heard in this thread  ..but,it's just cool to share the music so here goes..My "real" band covers this Beatles tune called "Rain"..it's a great song and our singer does a pretty decent job on the lead vocals, but I thought I would give it a solo "one man band" kinda treatment..my vocals suck but I'm just having fun. Here it is:

Rain

This is a great thread with some awesome versions, like Variaxman said.

Too bad we couldn't make this a sticky because I'm sure every couple of days somebody somewhere is recording a Beatles cover.
