I could stupefy y'all with a clunker version of nearly e'thing on this thread!!!

I wish I could have a page for my lofi stuff, 'cause it doesn't sit well on the "hifi" page I've developed,... eh,... relatively speaking. Heh. This one: http://www.soundclick.com/davemania

You did the entire "off white" album yes?

I'm a tad tipsy at the moment but I think I remember that from a few years ago.

I think, correct me if I'm wrong.

Another Dave. ;)

Yes,... we have a winner!! Ding! Ding! Ding!!!

It wasn't a track-for-track clone of the actual "White Album", but it was loosely based on a spoof of Beatlemania. The 3 cd set contained over 30 Beatles covers of varying dates and production quality. Gems and clunkers alike!!! The covers posted at http://www.soundclick.com/davemania would be some cuts off that original "Off White Album" set. The cream of the crop, no doubt. Heh.

BTW: I rearranged the song order on Soundclick, so check it out!!
Reverse alphabetical order, man! Trippin'!
   ;)

Davemania, AYE!! Y'had to be there!

More stuff from the archives. Y'know,... the voices told me! Post it!
   ;)

This is live-in-studio jam stuff down to cassette, that I added overdubs to years later at std. speed/no NR, so please suspend all disbelief! Heh.

"A Day in the Life"

Llarion,

Nice job on one of my favorite Beatles songs. It has a lot going for it. I must agree, however, with tamky's assessment. It just seems a bit too stiff. It sounds to me like the singer is thinking more about singing than he is about the song.

OK, now here's one for you to rip apart. My brother Bob and I recorded this as a gift for our parents. The folks have always dreamed of their musically talented children (a few of us fall into that category) overcoming various factors, such as the geographical distance between us, long enough to perform together.

Bob recorded the instrumental tracks and the "Paul" vocal part at a friend's home studio in Massachusetts on a Roland VS-1680. He sent me a CD with a stereo premix, minus the "John" vocal, which I recorded. Then I created the final mix. (This just to explan the limitations we were working with.)

The folks loved it. I hope you find it at least mildly entertaining.

If I Fell

Don

Hi Don,
And others on this thread,
I was looking around for totally different information from this forum, and came across the Beatles Covers thread.

I'm an inveterate Beatles fan, although about 10 years too young to remember them. I play guitar and sitar very badly because of The Fabs' influence.

Don, I really, REALLY like your version of 'If I Fell' - I can never 'hear' the harmony (John) vocal properly and have been meaning to get down and actually figure out the notes on guitar so that I could then learn to sing it; you've inspired me to do this.

Well done, great job.

Great Beatles Covers

I like it Phil. Great cover. It's funny, I was talking to the wife the other day and I told her that I wanted this tune played at my funeral (cheerful eh? ).
Anyways, this is my son and I covering "I Me Mine".

Hi Track Rat,
Really liked these versions; you're guitar playing, singing, sense of dynamics and arrangements are great.

The only thing that I didn't like was the voicing of the guitars (electric) at times - it came across as fuzzy and mushy, rather than biting, but otherwise a great job.

I've Got a Feeling!

I've attempted a few Beatles covers, here's one that I currently have a link to.. It a remake of I've Got a Feeling.

Not much story about this one, did all the tracks myself, just wanted to try it, always liked the guitar riffs!

Comments? :o

Nice vocal harmonies, hot guitars on both sides of the spectrum, keys fit well in the middle of the mix. Good tones and balance on the drums. I like the "telephone/megaphone effect" in the middle. Great job.....
