Hi all

A friend of me asked me to look out for a bass distortion pedal for him, or maybe even a descent multi effect that isn't too expensive.

Any sugestions?

My bass player loves his Bass POD for distortions and effects. The SansAmp pedals also do well for bass. I personally like my Art PhatBoy, but it hardly distorts aside from the "Growl" tone. Aside from that, it has some decent effects that aren't very tweakable and decent compression.

Ibanez PD7 Phat Hed - nice overdrive and sturdy as hell. Ive been real happy with it.

I was going to suggest Electro-Harmonix Bass Balls, but I don't think it's technically a distortion pedal. Anyone know for sure?

Okay, just found their site. This is what they had to say about it:

"The USA NYC-made reissue Bassballs has two tuned, sweeping dynamic filters that produce vowel-like overtones. Distortion mode intensifies overtones and resonance of this classic effect making the USA Bassballs perfect for guitar or bass."

So it's a type of distortion, and perhaps the filters make it more versatile? I remember playing with one and enjoying it — wish I knew whatever happened to it .

The Zoom 507 II has lots of good effects and I have been told that it is good for recording but I have only used it live so far.

Sans Amp!

I love the Sans Amp for bass, the guitar model, I forget the #!
