Just upgraded from entry level console to A&H GL4000-48.
Old conslole had 24 tape sends and 24 dedicated tape returns. Easy to figure out and worked perfect with my 24 track recorder.
A&H console has no dedicated tape sends or returns. I can return all 24 tracks to the upper 24 channels on the counsole but only have 8 busses to send out. Aside from using a direct out from each of the first 24 channels to go to tape. What are other options here?
Thanks for any suggestions

Auxes, matrix -- It's not exactly what I'd want to use for recording & mixing... I suppose you could use the line inputs when you need them, but you'd have to physically re-patch every time...

The GL4000-48 is designed for live sound, it wont have have tape returns. It will be hard to set up this console as a studio console. You could use the inserts as direct outs by only plugging the insert cables in halfway, but it's not ideal.
