How about "Push"? The band name will be on every public door in the world! ;)

Didn't the Greatfull Dead get their name by opening the dictionary to two pages in a kind of dart board fashion. And while on acid naturally ...... not to be a dick of course.

i bet they had few tries before that one worked... all forgotten of course in the acid haze.

just consider led zeppelin... its a ridiculous stupid name... if your good a band name doesnt matter... if your shite it is probably all you have going for you.

That's not a bad name!!!

Came to me in a flash Chili. Songs come to me in the same manner fully written from vocals to any backing orchestrations.

There you go Philbagg ..... better grab it quick for it's out there on the internet highway. I'll only take 2% off the top. ;)

Yeah I tried that yesterday ...... no wait that was thirty years ago - and that wasn't even me! It's heck getting old.

Didn't really know where else to put this...

So I've just started a new band. 4 of us guys, and a female singer. We're struggling to find a good band name.

Anybody have any interesting techniques for coming up with a name? Or even better, anybody giving out any names? :D

I just named my new band Jackwagon. Stay the hell away from it.

Candidates were: Malibu Ken and the Dream Dates. Philosophical Wax. My soon to be ex-daughter:mad: suggested Old Play or Hippy Village.

Don't use the tired old cliche *name* and the *some dumb pluralized name* schtick unless the *name* part is someone famous that you got to join your band.

One name car part band names are pretty dumb too.

No respect due, Dicky.

Without the acid they were going to go for the Mythical ethical icicle tricycle. So, with all the due respect in not being called Dick, maybe there's something to be said for drugs in rock music.

I see serious rivalries with those bands "Pull" and "Exit" !

Incidentally "Led Zeppelin" was deliberately misspelled Led. They were to be called "Lead Zeppelin" but it can be pronounced two ways and they didn't want the error of 'lead' as in guitar or dog. It comes from the phrase "Going down like a lead balloon" which Keith Moon of the Who was fond of using to describe a shitty gig that got virtually no audience response. There's a science to all this, you know ! :D

Ya know, it kind of makes you wonder... if it goes down like a lead balloon, how did it ever get up there in the first place???

i recently read when giants walked the earth...im not a big fan of their music but the book was excellent...I see Page especially in a different light now

also "when giants walked the earth" is a great band name, though you'd better be good :)

Is a sample character from Dungeons and Dragons famous enough?
And does only being a fictional member of the band count?

Otherwise, I may be in trouble!

In the same vein as "Push", You could use "Men" or "Women".
Almost half of the bar bathrooms will already be stickered for you! :D

Yours is pretty funny, so I give you a pass.

I'm talking shit like Johnny Taylor and the Sparkletones or something gay like that. :laughings:
