My wife and I do a podcast called Spooktalkular. We do the show live and record it also for our podcast listeners. We will be starting having live guests on. When it's time for a guest to come on, we'll be in break. It would be nice to be able to call our guest behind the scenes and talk to them while on break, bringing them in once the break is completed. We are using a Behringer 802 Mixer. The full details of our configuration is on two PDFs at http://www.spooktalkular.com/technical-manual/.
I also have a Xenyx 502 mixer and I was able to kind of create a backchannel by using it. I fed the output from the 802 into inputs 2 and 3 on the 502 then, I fed the PC doing the break into outputs 4 and 5 on the 502. When the break was playing on the 502, I was able to call and set up the Skype call on the 802. Then, when it was time, I just brought up channels 2/3 on the 502. It worked but there has to be a better way of doing it.
I apologize in advance if this isn't the proper place to post this.
Thanks in advance as well.
