What does THIS button do?
I just got done dicking with this axis pedal I got from a friend for like 3 hours.. My dad had the double pedal and I guess half of it blew up on him so he had the other half laying around and I got the other one hoping to use the first one for spare parts. What a freakin pain in the ass it was to swap around a few stupid parts! I finally got it figured out.. sort of fried one of the bearings in it but it feels fine without it.

For free.. it's not a bad pedal though. If it were longboard I suppose it would be better.. but it's still not a DW 9000 or Yamaha :-\

I had an Axis longboard double pedal for a while. Didn't like it much. I suppose if I took more time to get used to the action (They felt way different than any other pedal I've ever used) I'd probably like it better, but I figured why bother, and returned them plus money back for some DW's which felt alot better right out of the box.

My experience with Axis pedals is that they were too lightweight and really felt "toy-ish". They're beneficial in that way I guess if you're into playing 15 million strokes per minute but where's the musicality in that? I have a DW9000 Accelerator and like was said before, it just feels right. The downside to the 9000 pedals is that they are almost too powerful and I can easily split my beater through the batter head if I don't use impact pads. That's just my crappy technique, though and I beat the hell out of the kick to get the sound I need.

you're right the 9000 is a better pedal all around. I think axis are kind of cheaply made and designed. However, I just got done playing on it and honestly it's 1000 times smoother than my iron cobra. HOWEVER the cobra is around 6 years old and has been beat the hell out of. Maybe I'll sell them both and I'll be that much closer to a 9000 ;)

On a side note, I've owned both a pair of 9000s and a pair of 5000s. I actually preffer the 5000s for some reason. They don't have as many features, and aren't quite as smooth, but they just feel better to me for some unknown reason. Maybe I never got the 9000s adjusted to just the right spot.
