Avant?

I have noticed these mics, and all I can tell is that they look really cool and ship in a nice box :D

Harvey made a note sometime early this year, that he had some coming to him, but I have not seen anything about how he liked them or not...

Anybody got much to say about em?

We like em a lot, but we haven't had time to put them through a complete test.
 
I just was wondering how some of the mid level ones would fair on vocals, and how bright sounding they are....
 
I've heard good things about the CK-1 condensers. I hope Harvey has the oportunity to test them out. The price on the CK-1's is very good, considering you get interchangable capsules.
 
If I had the $500 to spend the multi pattern tube mic looks awesome! it comes with three tubes to change out and try.....

9 patterns to switch from, and three tubes... Looks awesome, but is not in my budget unless I sell something.
 
I am really interested in any comments about the snare and kick mics. They seam like they might be reasonable budget options.
 
Avant equiv vs SP T3

Hey Harvey,

I know you love the T3 so:

1. Does Avant make a mic similar to the T3

2. If so, which one and how would you compare them.

I know this is a sticky spot, but I'm still wanting to add another mic for my own vocals ( I have the TB1 which I like) and have looked at both of these mics.

I've been thinking about getting a T3 but a friend suggested an Avant C12.

Anyone use one of these?
