Avalon Direct Box

I recently recorded a session on a Mackie HDR2496 and a D8b where I ran the bass (Music Man stingray 5) through the Avalon U5 direct box. It sounded absolutely great! The discrete processing we have grown to expect from Avalon really enhanced the sound. Especially with a price tag of $575.00 makes it a must own for project studios and the big guys alike!

The Avalon is rumoured to be fantastic, even by people like Fletcher and Roger Nichols. Not a bad price for a "real" bass amp. The new Great River DI's are supposed to sound equally as good or better on bass. I;ve heard some tracks done with the Vintech DI's and they were pretty fat, way fatter than average DI boxes.
