2 x ACM200

This may be increased by a couple of mics or cancelled altogether depending on whether sales of other gear go ahead.

1 x 1084 Pre
Had some mics down but changed my mind with the whole freight thing.
Peace.

Hi,

I'm in for the following:

1 x 73 preamp (this is a definite)
2 x mics (one ACM 4 ribbon, and probably a 1200 tube condensor).

I can confirm the mic details in the next day or two.

There was a poster on GS named Pressurepoint (IIRC) who expressed some interest in combined shipping theory. Dunno if he still intends to buy.

Thanks for this Peter.

Hi there,

1 x acmp 84
1 x acm 1200
2 x acm 310

May cancel order if freight too much :(

Hopefully they can travel via USPS.
Even postage is expensive if they came to say, Sydney ,and then got redistributed to various other states. We'd(I'd) be paying twice !
I'm in Qld

Cheers

You wouldn't be paying twice if they came direct from china...but thats still up in the air afaik

I've been unable to post the URL of the Customs webpage we need to refer to as I'm under 5 posts on HomeRecording.com.

If you go to the Customs website then, in the LHS menu, choose Import/Export, Importing Goods, Buying over the Internet, you'll get info.

HOWEVER, perhaps what we are attempting to do is outside the scope of these guidelines. Maybe the page "Importing goods by post" is the relevant one?? I don't have time to investigate at the moment, sorry.

Shipping to the US is included within the original pricing and considering the quantities involved is likely to be a small $ amount per individual item.

Should the "direct from China" option become viable, are we assuming that the already included shipping costs will cover the direct option leaving us only to pay for local postage?

Customs are only interested in collecting import duties, anything to do with actual shipping/postage is of no real concern to them and for those who haven't seen it in the other thread, this is an example of the basic formula used for calculating import duties, etc., IF the shipment is over $1000AU in value ...........:

Customs (declared) Value .......$1000
Customs Duty 5%......................$50
Shipping costs.........................$200
Value of Taxable Import (VOTI) $1250

GST @ 10% ............................$125

Therefore total payable is Duty + GST..... $175

That's my assumption. Based on the prices quoted by Chance the shipping from USA is very expensive. If it's shipped direct we only have to deal with local postage or pickup.
