I just ordered the boxed version of 2.0. I was going to download the trial, but after reading the forums at AudioMasters and Adobe, I decided to go with it.

As far as the pricing goes, I got 1.5 shortly after it came out, and got some real work out of it, at least $70 worth. I calculate that the purchase of 2.0 will bring my Syntrillium/Adobe outlay over 6 years (starting with CEP SE) up to about what I paid for Photoshop CS. Given that 2.0 represents a rethinking of the whole program, I believe it is a bargain...especially given its intuitive interface compared to the more expensive competition.

I'm really interested on buying AA 2.0 but here in EU the prices are crazy... 425 euros was cheapest I could find (that's over 500 U.S. dollars) :( I'm wondering if it's worth it.

I'd suggest against it. I did end up returning it after all. They're support is horrible.

Depends how bad you need it (or would like it!), what your budget is, and what the alternatives are. Impossible for anyone else to judge. Try the demo first in any case.

hey there

Still no MIDI sequencing and now online activation.

How is it that Sonar (Cakewalk) can make $$ with no online activation and Adobe can’t? Online activation is a pain. Even more so when you get a new PC a year from now and have to reactivate the SW.

This will be the first upgrade since ‘97 that I’ll pass on.

Hi. I haven't checked out the links. But I agree with you about online activation.
what's so hard about letting me have a CD to reinstall if I have to?

and still no midi.....

the product doesn't interest me either. are you using the first audition or the old cool edit?

Running it fine here with an AMD 2700+ and 512MB DDR Ram.
Use it regularly.

For me activation is a 100% non-issue. Automatic, takes about 5 secs, easy to transfer, helps stop grotty little schoolkids get for free what I've paid for. Well, some of them anyway.

I'm with Mr Ozpeter. I installed & registered very quickly. I have other software that does much less, with much more cumbersome registration (a couple of items required multiple support phone calls to get software -- bought and paid for -- to allow me to use it). As Ozpeter said, it "helps stop grotty little schoolkids [from] get[ting] for free what I've paid for."
