Audio Track Problems Please Help ASAP on a deadline

I imported a stereo track along with one audio track as well as a master fader and aux track. When I go to play the stereo track in solo mode it mutes the track, but if I choose mute it plays with everything else which is strange because mute is supposed to mute the track not make it play. Also what is even more strange is that this stereo track plays with the volume slider turned all the way down. Both the master fader and the mono audio track don't do any of this. Can someone please help me????

Can you post a screen shot?

sounds to me like your stereo track's output is set to the aux track input,rather than out1+2, or your stereo track is bussed to the aux track.

that would explain why soloing the audio track silences it, (cos the aux isn't solod too)

a bus send would also explain why the audio plays even with the fader turned down.

solo safe would make sense if he was soloing one track, but able to hear more than one track....
