Awrite boays,
I'm an independent film maker from scotland and have had an AT835b in my arsenal for quite some time. I was thinking of purchasing a second microphone and have been looking at another 835b which was annoyingly sold to a friend of mine. I have however been offered an AT815b which is from the similar era as the AT835b. I'm a fan of audio technica and for obvious reasons want to keep my collection "in the family". I've been looking, What should I buy to go along side my 835b? I don't particularly want to replace it but would rather find something that would work along side it. I don't plug any of it into cameras or anything, I use a couple of marantz PMD660 solid state recorders (balanced XLR inputs) which do lovely uncompressed WAV format audio. Also, the mics would be boomed and all that jazz. Also, i've noticed theyve got the new AT8015 and AT8035 range, is there much of a difference? Are the old ones considerably better or worse? I was also considering the Audio Technica 897. Much of my upcoming film project is dialogue based, i'm also shooting in quite bass heavy environments (Band Documentary). Give me your ideas opinions and recommendations.
Cheers,
Cheech.
