Hey,
I've been using Cubase 5 for a long time now and it worked 100% fine with no issues.

After a while that I didn't use it, I wanted to record something, and suddenly it appears every time I try to process a piece of audio i recorded - whether it's plugins, fade in/out, compressing, effects etc nothing happens! It usually showed a small bar filling fast to show that the processing progress but it shows nothing.

When I set the same plugins/effects on the track itself and not on a certain part of the audio, it works though.

I tried deleting the Steingberg folder from AppData, tried reinstalling Cubase 5... nothing worked.
I didn't have any changes made to my PC so I really can't think of anything... Please help me...

Running Windows 7 64 bit with an Intel I7-2600 3.4GHz processor...

Solved thanks to a post I found on the old Cubase.net forum.
Sorry, I couldn't find it before...

Anyways, in case anyone runs into a similar problem - try changing the location of your project folder.

Thank anyways!
