audio performance

cubase 32 ver 5. p4 1.3 gighz. partitioned hd- c: with o.s. @ 4 gigs ,d@ 16 gigs
the disk meter goes way up in vst performance when 20 audio tracks are running. cpu is ok. any ideas on how to get a bit more out of my system. i know its to do witk disk performance.thanx

I assume your motherboard has a built in ATA/100 disk controller. You have installed the drivers for this properly? What type of hard drive and motherboard?
