Hi I've bought an M-audio firewire audio interface to record demo riffs, hooks etc. The audio interface came with Ableton live lite recording s/w. I can connect everything fine and it records fine.

The only problem is that the sound is not really good at all. I'm not recording at very high volumes and the signal is not clipping either. However, it doesn't sounds very well.

Can anyone suggest what can I do to better the sounds. I don't want CD master quality but something basic at least.

i'm not using any mic at all. I've plugged my guitar in the 1/4" input of the audio interface and that's it. I only want to record demo riffs, licks, hooks etc and that to only for demo purpose.
