audio interface question - thinking about getting icicle

I am looking for a cheap audio interface.

I am buying a v67g for my daughter w/ shock-mount, pop filter, mic stand etc... This is going to be a Christmas present for her to record vocals with cd music input. She doesn't play an instrument yet but loves to sing popular songs with no words(don't remember the term)

I understand that anything I buy is going to suck. I just want to know what will suck the least. I was going to get a Blue Icicle to interface to USB and to provide phantom power but I was wondering if I should spend a little extra and get a cheap audio interface.

I will upgrade eventually.
 
nevermind guys.. I decided to go ahead and bite the bullet and pay a little extra to get something at least worth buying. I picked up an m-audio pro usb
 
You made some good choices. Remember no matter what you buy/bought she will love it.
