?? But these sites are written in British with stuff like £ and stuff and probably petrol and lift and telly...

And not to mention "loo" and "by jove, lad it's time for tea" and other such strange "English" things ;)

:D j/k

shite...never thought about that..wonder how many brits use this forum??

anywayz, thought it might be helpful for those who want to know "what is a mixer or preamp, and where do they go".........

I think they were just messing with ya jools. Seems like some good information you posted there.

Jooooooools are you the real Jools? As in piano maestro Holland? Thought not.

There's a few Brits on here, LemonTree, Wilkee, Mark7, CanopuS, Garry Sharp, Neil Oglivie and myself are a few off the top of my head.

Do you fancy a spot of tea, old boy? ;)

:D :)

But noisedude himself comes from Yorkshire - I think they're planning to secede ;

There are more and more brits finding this bbs, which is great - to add to dude's list glynb knows a thing or two, he posts a fair bit and he plays in a rock covers band near Manchester. The forums at www.soundonsound.com are predominantly brit but I prefer this one.

Good old BBC :o

Hopefully ;) Prescott for Prime Minister and Alan Smith for Sports Minister. Richard Whitelely for Chancellor. :p

We should have an unofficial gathering of UK and maybe European HR types ... it's too far to go to America and anyway Britain's way better

I say, top hole link there old bean! I feel i shall become a regular on the UK based soundonsound henceforth, though i shall continue to contribute here now and then to get the view from the collonials.

Speaking of the good old BBC, DJ John Peel played a track last Thursday that a friend wrote and I recorded and played guitar on!! talk about a thrill!

Yo in the UK & here:

"A spot of tea?" Well, once in a while; however, a double Laphroig "with ice" will do nicely.

A wonderful scotch it is for a retired English teacher who taught Thomas Hardy novels with a passion. Such a beautiful story teller was Hardy.

I'm beginning to sound like Yoda.

Cheers from the Colonies.

Green Hornet :D :p  :D

Beautiful. Humour, patriotism and patronisation all at once. We taught you well before we shipped you out. :p;)

Well glynb that is awfully, damnably un-British you know, flouting one's achievements in public in such a flagrant manner. Good God man, if you don't pull yourself together you'll end up playing that guitar of yours in front of unsuspecting people like some brash Colonial fellow ;) And frightening their horses to whit.

Seriously - that's bloody excellent. (Note to readers - glynb refuses to post any of his stuff here because he's unsure of its quality - he just gets on the sodding radio instead. John Peel is the doyen of DJ's, compulsory listening in the 70's and still highly revered. You don't get on a better show than his.)

oops! Yes, I guess I've been hanging around on this group too long and mixing with americans, hence the brashness! LOL
I'll be yahooing and wooping in bars next, must remember the stiff upper lip!

The song isn't one of mine and my involvement was simply to play guitar, record it, and offer opinions on the production side.

Seriously, I think it's good to hear when us 'little guys' get some success. it should inspire others to keep on trying, it is possible with some luck, to have some minor successess.

To be honest though I'm not too keen on a lot of the stuff Peel plays, far too much techno stuff for my tastes, but long may he continue to challenge us.
