hello..

when i connect my atr35s with xenyx 1202 i get a lot of noise..

if i buy a art tube mp and connect it as an fx to xenyx will i get noise?

info pls...

What's your chain?
Where's your gain settings at?
How about your initial input trim?

Start there.

probably (apparently one needs 10 characters to post)

to answer even slightly more substansively it would help to have more information (as dogbreath suggested)

there are a lot ways one can introduce noise into a recording path for starters you could be recording in a noisy environment (human hearing will fatigue, tune out, a lot of broadband constant 'background' sound, which is noise or not noise depending on definition . . . unwanted sound (in recording path) is not necessarily noise), and the microphone can not disregard that information: wind, traffic, HVAC can all seem to appear out of nowhere)

Noise can be introduced by ground loops, poor electrical ground, poor power supplies or inappropriate interaction among poorly shielded power supplies. All microphones require significant amplification of their initial electrical impulses. If there are electrical problems, ground problems a 'better' pre amp will merely do a better job of amplifying all those problems

More or less by design a tube pre will increase distortion of source, whether that will introduce higher levels of unwanted noise depends on the signal path

which gets back to Dogsbreath post. As a general rule it would be more effective to sort out where (and by what mechanism) noise is introduced into the system before one starts buying $100+ bits of gear in a random hope they might fix the problem. If you are using the lavalier primarily to record spoken word I would not think the tube pre would be necessary. And as Berhinger is notorious for qc issues, regarding power supplies, sorting out whether the xynx is appropriate would be my first place to start

regardless of that I am not entirely sure I understand the logic (if noise is not the desired outcome) of using the tube pre as bus or insert FX

but more information would let someone tailor a more useful reply

the battery is new..

i connect the microphone to an input under xlr connector (1/4)

i turn up the gain and the noise is starting..

what else info do you want?

I don't 'want' anything. You're the one posting an inquiry

initial info was not really sufficient for substantive, specific reply

Now still don't have anywhere near enough for a 'distance' response to be specific but from the piece you've added my original response to your specific question remains: probably

don't have an atr35 but all the at lavalieres I've used have been capable of connecting via XLR cables

if you are connecting to xynyx via 1/4' you might be might be inserting mic signal into 'line level' . . . by time you increase gain/volume of the mic signal enough to be hear you have amplified the inevitable noise just as much

so it is possible that if you connect the atr to art tube pre via a 'mic level' you can achieve a working level for the mic signal, pass that to mixer via ¼ sockets (but then why would you need the mixer?) If the mixer has mic pres they are location to which you need to attach the mic, use those to increase gain on mic signal

at this point, based on info you've provided, it sounds as if you have not attached the mic to appropriate location on the mixer (if the mixer has ability to accept mic level signals)

(but noise in environment, ground issues, power supply intermodulation are all still suspect, based on information provided)

while being aware of how frustrating some of this can be for novices I had not been aware when responding to this post that this has been an on going inquiry for over a month

the responses have been consistent: the lavalier mics are probably not being attached to the signal chain appropriately

it is possible that something like this, supplied by a regular contributor to this forum might be the thing you need:

http://www.naiant.com/pfaspecification.html (that is a link to specifications, you can get to the the adapter from 'store', 'clever devices' about a third of the way down the page the PFA-M ('m' is for male there is also a 'F', for female)

(not connected with Naiant in any way but OP did not seem particular familiar with audio inter connects and this might be a better option then just destructively modifying the mics)
