What's the best settings to use for general talking and also for other mic activity's.
Also, I get a strange sound when I plug in the white and red jack things (Go In TV's for older game consoles and such). Does anyone know what that may be?

the line out (red and white plugs) is for your monitoring/speakers. Either to a set of Active Monitors /Powered speakers or a amplifier + speakers.
