gimmi your mic!
hi fellas --
I was recording vocals last night, using an AT4047 and a Focusrite Green channel strip. Unfortunately I noticed after the session that there is an annoying high ring tone in the tracks! I played around with my seetings after the session and noticed that the ring tone disappears when I disable the compressor on the channel strip. Fortunately I can eq the ring tone out by inserting a high cutoff at about 10kHz. If I use the same setting with my Neumann KM184, there's no ring tone. Strange.
Do you have any idea what could have caused the ring tone?

My only suggestion is that it could be caused by some sort of feedback or electromagnetic interaction. I dunno though
