asio drivers and focusrite pro

Hey guys just recieved my focusrite pro 24 dsp today and i cant bloody get it to work i tried installed everything and tried it with reaper ableton live and fl studio and all are giving me similar messages like failed to initialize asio driver also in saffire mix control it says firewire driver disconnected and when i look in my device manager i cant seem to see the 1394 listed can anyone help me out please i cant wait to start recording and im beginning to think my new interface is faulty or somethin
 
Really dont want to but im strongly thinking of wiping my computer and reinstalling the operating system maby there is something installed on that is interfering with the interface could this be the case
 
have you made shure the firewire port is enabled in the bios ?
when you plug it in do you get the windows new hardware detected ?
check your drivers on the motherboard disk or web site for newer ones


when you get it working can you tell us about the vrm and does it work or just another gimic.:D hopefully not my neighbours get sick of me playing the same song for days.

will check the bios now good idea and i will certainly let you know about the vrm as soon as i get this sorted

cheers man your my new best friend :p firewire was not enabled in the bios cant believe i didnt think of it:o Any way i will update you tomo about the vrm when i find out how to use it cheers for the help man it was much appreciated :D
