Ok so heres the deal, i just got a new computer, and its great, got a duel core 3Ghz processor 4Gb of RAM, pretty good specs for just working at home, ive been using ableton for just over a year too and never had any problems before this.
Playback through the audio interface (Alesis Multimix USB) is fine, through both itunes and ableton, when the sound driver in ableton is set too DirectX/MME (i think its called), but ive always used ASIO as my driver in the past on other less powerfull computers, but now when i select ASIO and the graphics slow down, and the CPU shoots to like 400% (seriously). Although there is no latecny at all everything just goes crazy, and i cant use the DirectX driver because the latency is too drastic, im ready to cry.
does anyone have any suggestions on how to help?
