If criticism is off topic here im a 16 foot cahtolic bear LOL !!!!!!
Criticism is all Ive got so far (CRY!!)

I meant criticism of MUSIC. Criticism of PEOPLE is always on-topic.

The only debatable thing on the price is that it retails for $850 and is well worth every cent!!
I truly know this to be so!!!
If anyone here is looking for a Quality unit they really are selling them at near cost. I mean offering a money back guarantee is a sure sign of confidence as well as ESCROW If they were shiesters they woldnt offer ESCROW

Ahh finaly some support
Did you like MAYA?? Wait till I finish the Heavy part :)
As for your last comment "you may find one that is 99% like a Neuman"
THEY ARE ALL MADE TO EXACTING STANDARDS.
ALL THE SAME
YES!!!
As far a teaching goes these mic's have been tesed by Australia's formost engineers (need proof?)
And again all it took was a little inovation and alot of hard work and modifications (they all sound like mine I tested 5 units to make sure)
I know buying off Ebay is daunting but if you guy's need any info I would be happy to pass it on to J&T.

Its not as if I am trying to prove the existence of God . Am I?

DO I go Up a few notches then :)

Why don't you tell me where I can pass on the Info to J&T? You must have the only hidden link in the universe.

Exactly. I really want to know about these guys. A link off Ebay is all good and stuff...but what about J&T themselves? If someone asks me "So what about this mic...?" I want to be able to point them at a company homepage or a phone number or something that's not just an ebay auction. I think that's reasonable.

Thanks Agian for all your input...Its been real fun
Night all :)

This is the first real information he has given us. It has been *fun* for him. I think he is Hottsauce_21.

Bunyip,

To satisfy my idle curiousity, have you or can you get hold of a digital camera? If so, would you care to unscrew the bottom section off the mic casing, withdraw the mic assembly from the case and photograph the pcb's........there should be two of them, one either side..........then post the hopefully clear pics here in this thread. I can add the photos to the small library of mic pcb pics I have and also compare them to other similar mics.

This may also help establish some small amount of credibility to the claims made regarding the origin and modding of these mics.

Do you think a homepage adds Credibility?
Any 12 year old could write a hompage
How about the sales managers phone???

While I'm waiting for bunyip to answer my request, I will say this.............................to a degree he is correct about the webpage....................e.g. there is a website for another vendor of Chinese mics in Australia, which has all kinds of semi ludicrous statements about their mic development, etc., etc.......it really is total BS and laughable, but unfortunately it will suck a lot of newbies in.

At the same time, anyone can say that they are a sales manager and over the phone there is little you can do to prove them right or wrong.

well, ausrock, any information is better than no information at all. If there was a web site, we could at least judge ourselves what kind of a company it is. Maybe its just a bunch of guys fiddling around in their parents garage??

Mabey try a unit wernt fender and marshal working out of there garage in the early days (not to mention alot of other big companies)
HOWEVER THESE GUYS ARE SURLEY NOT TINKERING IN THE GARAGE

hi bunyip --

I didn't mean to imply that they are working in a garage, but its a bid odd if there's a company claiming they manufacter "amazing" stuff and you can't find any info on the company itself or their products other than on a dubious ebay web site. It seems like their only marketing strategy involves, well: you ;-) Anyway.

Hey, do you think you could post the dry & uncompressed vocal track on the web? That'll be great! So far it sounds good, judging from the song you've posted.

Judging by the mp3, the mic is definately better than ANY neumann. Sign me up. I will take one. You can PM me the details and I will give you my friend's credit card #.

The only debatable thing on the price is that it retails for $850 and is well worth every cent

WRONG!!! According to the spiel on ebay they have a RRP of $1299 Aust. They are discounting them to $850 or whatever.

Bunyip,

Do you have any idea of what modifications are required to make a stock standard, off the shelf Chinese mic sound "similar" to a Neumann?

Do you have any idea of how easy it is to have a Chinese manufacturer supply mics (obviously you need to buy more than one or two) with whatever brand name you want on the bodies?

Do you really believe these guys are selling mics on ebay for cost.............without making a profit?

Do you really believe that the build quality and quality control of these mics is on a similar level to the major European manufacturers?

You are being ridiculously defensive about this whole issue without putting up any concrete proof to back the claims being made by either yourself or J & T. BTW, aren't RA Design Labs primarily a Hi-Fi audio specialist company.

So come on......how about getting some decent pics of the pcb's. At least that would be a positive start.
