But the whole thing its not a cheap Knockoff so I cant just leave it at that

Glad to hear you're having a good time. If you survive this hazing you can survive anything.

I'm downloading your song now.

Curious as to why you're pushing the mic so hard though. Do you have any interest in the sale? Or are you just a very satisfied customer?

The writing style (lack of) and grammer sound alot like Hotsauce_21. I think this is him!

Thanks
A bit of both I am a very satisfied customer and I am looking to get a second one (overheads matched pair) I know they are looking for overseas endorsements (pro ones though) and retailers I dont know why Ive stuck it out so long When I feel I need to prove something I just stick to it

Have you downloadsd it?
I couldnt get to dowload they say the service is ofline
In answer to your question

All the vocals were recorded on the HA-101
As well as the sitar
And the Tibetan Prayer bell
Drums were done well before I bought the HA-101 (unfortunately)

I m dog tired If you guy's like what you hear (even though it only is an mp3) it only took 5 months to make.

Lastly - don't forget - while everyone seems to be comparing mics to Neumanns, and while Neumanns are excellent mics - a Neumann isn't always the right mic for the job.......
Im sorry Bruce..I can't let this go ;) Your comment leads me into deeper ideas.

That very statement is the one that sorta drive Harvey Gerst to sincerely evaluate mics of all levels. To see where each mic fits into the AE puzzle. I think people spend alot of time trying to make absurd comparison when they really don't have to. I spent a day or two sorta going around the cheap vs not so cheap comparison with Joe Chicarelli. Im pretty sure Fletcher could spend several weeks expounding on this subject. I got cheap mics, but those mics were purchased to fill a need. They are also purchased on a specific budget. Harvey made recommendations and Im thankful because they work for what I needed them for. I think if we teach people (esp newbies) about the vast variations of quality, character and cost in a way that they can make decisions based upon reality. Fletcher knows its the sound and quality of the mic that matters most, he has said many times he couldn't really care who makes it if the sound and quality is right for the intended purpose. Harvey said the same thing essentially, same with Joe C and Al Schmitt. When Joe uses a KSM44 its based upon meeting the requirement of making it sound that way he thinks it should sound. There is no one mic that is the end all, be all of all mics...
It is entirely possible that these mics sound pretty good for the price range, and you might be able to find one out of the lot that sounds 99 percent of the way there in sounding like a U87...but you have to audition it in real world scenario's. Im not buying anything off of Ebay, I need at least a week of experimenting with it. Or it has to recommended by a knowledgeble AE who has used it and has seen whether or not is sounds like a U87.
So instead of jumping on the newbie with such vigor of crushing him with antinewbisitc rebellion, teach him like Harvey would, or did as I would say I guess.

Id like to hear folks just for once go "hey I found a relatively cheap condensor for $xxx.xx, what are your thoughts and are they worth the advertised price?" Be nice!
More thought later maybe?

SoMm

Ahh finaly some support
Did you like MAYA?? Wait till I finish the Heavy part :)
As for your last comment "you may find one that is 99% like a Neuman"
THEY ARE ALL MADE TO EXACTING STANDARDS.
ALL THE SAME
YES!!!
As far a teaching goes these mic's have been tesed by Australia's formost engineers (need proof?)
And again all it took was a little inovation and alot of hard work and modifications (they all sound like mine I tested 5 units to make sure)
I know buying off Ebay is daunting but if you guy's need any info I would be happy to pass it on to J&T.

Its not as if I am trying to prove the existence of God . Am I?

DO I go Up a few notches then :)

I've heard a lot worse. :D At least we now have some idea what the mic can do.

bunyip --

why are you trying SO hard to promote these mics?? If you are affiliated with the mic company, why don't you just tell us? We won't bash you more than we already did ;-)

Ahh tis so hard to get good critisism "Ive heard alot worse"is better than nothing
Thanks
Do you guys have any songs to download???

I've listened to the song and can't say more than that it sounds nice. The hum botheres me at the end of the song, but I figure it has nothing to do with the mics. By listenting to a song with many different layers I can't judge how the mic sounds like. Why don't you just post the vocal track?

Sorry the hum at the end is guitar pickup noise it is "unfinished so there are no fadeouts yet :)

Again they have been tested by some of Australia's best engineers !!!!! Erik Kowarski (see the testomonial on ebay)

Criticism is off-topic here. Try posting in the MP3 Mixing Clinic if you want criticism. My point in encouraging you to post the music was that we could get a rough idea of whether the mic is a piece of garbage. It's clear (to me at least) that it is not garbage. Whether it is worth $699 (or $399) is debatable.

I love a good bashing Thanks guy's
If I was unsure or not 100% confident I would have left age's ago ;)
