You never answered my questions regarding the preamp and sources you used to make the comparison. How did the tracks sound in the mix? Perhaps if you gave a more objective view of your results, we would be more than happy to listen!

I'll take you up on that offer. I'd want the agreement terms a little better defined and formalized before sending my money to J&T though. I'll have my lawyers draw up the papers.

Hows this ill ask the guys at J&T If theywould send you guys a tester ( I Know they are looking for more endorsements)
However if you are the EXPERIENCED industry people you like to appear to be, lets see your credentials and track records and the best one to impress can get the MIKE to try (they should have acess to spectrograph etc...) and if it is as SHITTY as you recon you can post it all over the site here BUT if it is as good as they say it is you must post all over the site as well

BTW - What does it take to be "affiliated" with the site? I'm a registred user (as are you!), but I'm just a hobbyist at this (hence the name homerecording.com). I still have decent equipment though (including a Neumann, though not the U87)

We could try a side by side mic comparisson. record something with two mics, your el-cheapo mic and something you want to compare it to.

convert the files to mp3, and upload them to www.nowhereradio.com, then we'll take a listen.

I also want a picture of the mic setup, so that we can SEE that you are comparing both. Set your EQ to unity so that you don't mess with the sound (but I guess you could cheat on this)

I have an mp3 I wrote (only part one of three) I used the FEILO HA -101 on Lets do a side by side.
What mic were you using then??
 
How come noone has answered (or asked) who/what exactly is J&T? A search for J&T Feilo on google doesn't bring up anything. Most of us know about Feilo...what about this J&T thing? A person or persons? A company?

Let's get things defined first...

Notice they don't mention the ole HA-101
