i want to buy one of the new art v3 2-channel rack pre-amps for
basicly all my recording. are they any good?

VVV refers to variable valve voicing, a marketing-heavy way of saying you can control the amount of "tube" in the otherwise solid-state signal.

The TPS and the DPS and the new ART Tube MP Studio VVV all have it.

I know this because I bought the TPS after talking to someone at ART's headquarters who assured me the preamps in the unit were different - quieter - than the Tube MP Studio.

In actual use, I have found that to be the case. It's a much quieter unit, and with a bunch of presets it's easy to dial in the right amount of harmonic distortion (by boosting the amount that goes through the tube).

Having said all that, I have to sell my brand new TPS because of some debt I have to get rid off (and because I now have the Delta Omni Studio, which comes with two preamps already).

If you're interesting in the TPS, drop me an email at ave@sptimes.com or 727-445-4152.

Even if you're not, I think it's a fine unit, much better than the Tube MP Studio I used to have - and it's per-channel cost is right.

I'm interesting in the TPS but I'm not telling what it stands for.
