The wall wart converts AC to DC... make sure you use the correct polarity for your DMP3.
No, it doesn't; it's just converting the line voltage to a lower voltage and current. Polarity is not an issue with AC to AC wallwarts. It's a 9 Volt, "AC convertor", not a 9 Volt "DC convertor" (which would require correct polarity orientation).

Here's a picture of the power sections of the DMP3 and the Audio Buddy (same company). Anybody see any polarity markings anywhere near the power input? There ain't none, because polarity doesn't matter (when you're dealing with 9 Volt AC adaptors).

Cool. Quite expensive but that SHOULD hopefully do the job. Thanks for clearing things up a bit. Incidently, I've been a bit stroppy in this thread, but I owe my thanks to all who have helped :D

Although it costs some, the good thing about it is if you get any other equipment wired for US power, you can plug that into it as long as it pulls less then 100W power.

Then again, if there is a Maplins store near you, take the DMP wall wart to the store and ask them for an equivalent that takes your mains voltage and puts out 9VAC at 1 amp minimum current with the correct plug for the DMP. They may have one for a lot cheaper.

I was wondering actually, if anyone had actually got experience in doing this (what crazydoc mentioned), used ANY piece of foreign equipment, as if that worked, I presume most would
