Are these legit bass traps?

It's foam. So I'd say the answer is "No". they're not legitimate bass traps. Foam is almost useless for acoustic purposes. It might help a bit if you need to tame some highs (though 99% of the time, highs aren't the problem in a room. The bass is the problem) But, for bass absorption, you need rigid fibreglass. So, using the words "bass trap" and "foam" in the same sentence is an oxy, moron. :)
 
Don't laugh Nasa uses water jets sprayed under the lift off to reduce the sound of lift offs.

the shipping price tell you they weigh nothing bass traps require mass which unfortunatly is heavy, so an 8 pack shipped for $12 is very light.

$12 = £7 royal mail standard parcel = 4kg

bass traps are normally 25-50 kg per m3

build your own with rigid fibreglass works out alot cheaper
