I've been asked to incorporate some aspects of this guitar in a build. I'm not familiar with the maker, I suspect he's US based. I always like to contact people before doing so. Th guy who supplied the pic can't remember where he found it.

It has some very Zeidler like qualities but It's not one of his. Any ideas??

Wish I could be of more help, but did want to say, that is a beautiful, and unique archtop. I love acoustics :p

Yeh it is nice. Good lines and not overly ornate. I like the Art Deco feel it has. Thats something I've always been influenced by.

It's the sort of thing I like to build above all others and thankfully I'm getting lots of commissions which is nice. The guy wants similar F holes and Headstock detail. As I say I don't like to rip other guys designs without asking. We all have our little signature things and most don't mind if you go ahead and use them, I don't mind but it is nice to ask first..

Indeed. I do like a simplistic design, with just a small amount of ornamentation. Could do with more conventional F-holes, but to each his own :)

The fashion for F holes in a less traditional style is one that has grown on me. D'aquisto kind of pioneered them and there have been some wild unbalanced examples since but also some very nice looking ones. As you say each to his own. I have my own take on some that I use. His were very sleek.

That's a beautiful guitar, Muttley. I wish I could help you ID it but I have no clue. :o

Yea, I certainly wouldn't mind if someone handed me that guitar, and looking at some D'Aquistos, this one has similar f-holes, and I could also deal with that one :)

And hey - mandolin bros is selling that one for *only* 33,000 dollars. On it :D

its time to sell your pontiac and buy a mid sized guitar!
If you drop that much on a guitar they better have a full life time warrenty for anything.

Muttley, you're a luthier? how long have you been crafting?

Over 30 years, and the last 20 full time as well as teaching acoustics part time and also done some consulting on design and plant for start ups abroad. These last few years I've been phasing out the teaching and consulting. I'm getting too old for work travel and now have young kids to boot. Beats working for a living. :D

And that D'Aquisto will hold it's price long after the Pontiac has rusted or the oil runs out..;)
