Lets say i have an album. Lets say its half rock, half experimental hip hop, half jazz. Just a mix of styles put together.

Its about 14 tracks long. Maybe 3 of them are short 30seond-1 minute interludes or outros and are very basic.

Lets say the other 11 songs are on average 3.5 minutes.

From blue bear or anyone else that does mastering, or has had mastering done?
Approximatly how much for the album. Is it possible to get some before and after samples from the company?

Sounds like an album and a half to me! :D

On a serious note, the rates vary. If you go to some reputable place, you can spend up to several hundred dollars per hour. I guess it really depends on how serious you are about it and how much you're willing to spend.

For the samples, I'm not sure whether a place will give you those. What you could do is have them master a single song, see if you like it, then take it from there.

Oh, and to spare him from saying it yet again, "Blue Bear Sound is NOT a mastering facility." ;)

$300 is usually pretty reasonable... since thats around what a replication plant will charge for Layout. Alot of ME's go off that... since it just steals $$ from Discmakers... and doesnt add cost to the band.

It varies significantly.... depends on the calibre of the mastering house.

Houses that "have a name" could be several thousand.... lesser known places anywhere from a couple hundred and upwards........
