I play a keyboard controller into a Roland MIDI sound module and I need to use a computer to run a small app called MidiPipe in order to make it work the way I want. I usually carry an iBook to gigs to run that app.

Is there anything I could run MidiPipe on, like an iPhone or whatever that would be smaller than carrying my iBook to gigs? Do iPhones, iPads, iWhatevers all use apps especially designed for them or can they run small Apple apps like MidiPipe?

what are you trying to do specifically? There are plenty of midi routers/filters/mergers etc out there..

here is a good place to start: http://www.midisolutions.com/

It would take a long time to explain specifically what I do with MidiPipe. Part of it is to make the knee operated pitch benders I made work, but there's a lot more than just that.

I'm familiar with Midi Solutions products. I have a few but to do what I do I would probably need at least 80 of them, and I still don't think I'd be able to do what I can do with MidiPipe, plus I'm tweaking it all the time.
