funny question.... i at first didnt know if i wanted to keep at guitar so i went cheap and now that i love im in need of a new guitar... my first guitar: squier strat. everyone i have asked about modding it at all says its not worth it. but i AM gonna get a pink pickguiard... how awsome would that look against the black?

I did a cool mod on my old squier strat.
Drilled out the pickguard holes for the volume pots, and replaced them with toggle switches; one for each pickup.
Took out the pickup selector switch, and the slot and holes were the PERFECT size to fit this slide pot that I'd taken out of something, so now it's got a slide pot for vollume, and th ree big shiny chrome switches. Rockin!

help! the pup is loose and i can't figure out how to get it to stay put. pics up at http://www.anti-favre.net/gbs/images/guitar. the screws aren't even heights because i attempted to mount the pickup directly to the body and i found that there is a dropoff to the electronics "hub" right where one of the screws needs to be.
