Anyone use these things?

I am thinking about getting a vocal processor, and I was looking at a couple of them, and I need some feedback. Has anyone used these things? They are supposed to have really good mic pre's in them, yada yada... And there are a couple that advertise vocal harmony (I know... ) So do I waste my money on a "complete package" or what would you recommend I get instead (other than the obvious, mics, etc)? Any way, what I was looking at were:
The TC Helicon Quintet Vocal Processor and the Digitech Vocalist VR. I was looking at a couple cheap ones, but I don't know if I would consider them, unless someone can say yea or nay on them: Digitech Vocal 300 and theDigitech VR Performer, which is just a vocal harmony processor, and pretty basic. Please give me some advice. I don't really want to get a mixer right now because I record to a Fostex MR-8 and mix on my pc. I am only looking for something to add some punch to my vocals because I only have one dynamic mic. Thanks!

TC Helicon is pretty much for adding some FX, but most importantly generating up to 4 part harmonies.

It won't give you pitch correction or voice modelling. To get that you need a Voice One or VoicePrism 2.0... but the Voice One doesn't have harmony and the VoicePrism doesn't give you pitch correction (pretty sure how that works).

Thanks! I may just get one and see what it can do. I record straight into the MR-8, which has pretty sorry preamps, and I have to turn the gain all the way up to record anything that is not DI (like mics for vocals, acoustic guitars), so I was looking at using it as a preamp, plus adding some good vocal effects. I like the harmony function, and if it sounds real enough, I would use it. I have stated before that I can hear harmony, but I am vocally challenged when it comes to singing harmony. I can't hit the 5ths and octaves very well. Thanks again, Cloneboy.
