Anyone tried Samson monitors?

Cruising through, I happened upon a set of active near-fields for studio use for $289. In today's budget world, I was curious if anyone had tried these yet? The Servo amps, being not too bad, have turned my budget-oriented eye that way. Anyone....

Today I saw something online somewhere by Samson called a "desktop monitoring system". It was about $200. I guess it's intended to be used to montior Cd copying or what have you. Sounded intriguing yet too good to be true. I want to find a store where I can hear them. If they are even remotely flattish, they'd be great.
