ANYONE KNOW IF THE NADY SCM1000 MIC WITH SWITCHABLE POLAR PATTERNS IS GOOD? I READ IN A MAGAZINE THAT IT IS COMPARABLE TO A NEUMAN U-87 BUT IM NOT SURE ABOUT THAT. THEY MIGHT JUST BE ADVERTISING. THE PRICE IS REAL GOOD ($149). LET ME KNOW.

I DONT NO IF IT REELY COMPARES TO A NEUMAN BUT ONLY YOUR EERS CAN BE THE TRUE JUDGE. NADY IS NOT USUALLY CONSIDERED WON OF THE TOP MIC MANUFACTURERS AND THEIR OUR MANY OTHER BUDGET MICS THAT WILL PROBABLY DUE A BETTER JOB!

o.k. then!

The Studio Projects B3 is supposed to come out soon,
and should be comparable in street price to the Nady.
Studio Projects is generally thought of of being a better brand in
terms of sound and build quality than Nady.
The website is www.studioprojectsusa.com

P.S. Should have mentioned that the B3 is also multi-pattern.

The SCM1000 is a 797 mike. Consistency would be a crapshoot. Studio Projects seems to be the best vendor to buy a 797 mike from, as they watch the quality, support the product here in these and other forums, and don't hide the origins of their mikes.

I once read in a magazine that Eric Clapton was God. In an unrelated story, I am currrently an atheist by marriage.

i've often wondered...if Clapton is God...what is Hendrix?

My new truck tire can be compared to a u87. That doesnt mean anything coming from a marketing dude.

Does the product stand up to the u87, now thats the question.

Personally I think the 79.00 nady has its uses but is no u87 by any means. It does fit the case pretty good.
