Anyone in the Dallas/Plano area can check my Mic?

I recently purchased a used SM57 from this forum. I think it might be defective. I was wondering if anyone living in the Dallas area is willing to test the Mic sensitivity for me- which seems very low. In return you get free lunch.

Thanks.

You can bring it up here and I'll check it against our SM57's for sensitivity.

Thanks. And where about in Dallas are you?
I'm about 40 miles from Dallas, just outside Denton. If you go to the "Contact" page on my ITRstudio.com website, there's a map to our studio. Or just ask almost any Dallas band how to get here.

Harvey-
Many thanks for offering to help. I just did a search on Mapquest and it is about 55 miles from Plano(where I live). I think it's a bit too far for me to drive to check my mic- especially when the gas prices are so darn high.

I really appreciate your help though.
Thanks again.

You ought to drive up there - you'd probably learn a lot more than just the sensitivity of your mic. :)

Gasoline - $20
Time lost from work - maybe $50
Free lunch for Harvey - $10-$20

Listening to Harvey ramble - priceless!

I have recorded at studios before. And I don't want to waste Gester's time anyway.

Too bad nobody else lives close to where I am.

How about bringing your SM57 to the Guitar Center on I-75 in Plano? Plug yours in and tap the top while you watch the mixer's level meter. Then, plug a new one in and tap on it while you watch the meter. They should be pretty similar if your SM57 is working okay.

And my invitation wasn't to get you to record here. I don't solicite business for the studio on the Internet.

Harvery-Thanks!
I was thinking about doing that. I wll probably take it in this week and if it's defective I will get a new one right there..
Thanks for offering to help. I certainly did not think that you were soliciting business. I know you were simply offering help to forum members. Thanks again.
