Thank you guys for your support!
Updates:
- I've found some incredible stuff while going thru boxes.
I have brand new 1/2" 8-track R/R & Erase HEADS for Tascam 38, still in their Tascam baggie with Part#
I have a brand new 1/2" Pinch Roller for Tascam 38, still in Tascam baggie with Part#
I have brand new 1/4" 8-track R/R HEAD for Tascam 388, still in Tascam baggie with Part#
I have various NOS 4-track Cassette Portastudio heads, not sure what models they fit ATM.
- I've been going thru Paypal records on email archives to collate my original purchase prices for lots of this gear, dating back to 2004.
For purchases prior to 2004, I'll have to dig thru bins of personal papers for eBay printouts.
I know street price varies a lot, but I need to know for my own purposes these costs vs. anything I manage to sell.
- I knew this intellectually, but going thru records indicates I bought a TON of stuff and virtually never used it.
All was properly stored in climatized indoor environment, and therefore is good or v-good cond & low use equipment.
- Some stuff I bought unfortunately was damaged in shipping, was mostly cosmetic but still works.
A hard hit to take, but those are the breaks! Most of these I'd prefer to sell as imperfect working units.
I may eventually cross a line to where I'd want to part them out, as yet TBD.
- Some stuff I bought on the cheap as non-working fixers, but never got around to actually fixing them.
Could be a boon for the real DIY'er!
I'd like to get back to a place where I can have a functional tech bench and fix this stuff again too.
- Inevitably, some of the most sought after items that people may want to buy are also items I'd be most interested in hanging on to.
Some unavoidable irony there, but I'll consider any reasonable offer!
I'm trying to be realistic about my actual recording "needs", vs my "wants".
With all the gear and media comes a realization it may exceed my recording capabilities well beyond my natural lifetime.
- Gotta learn to crawl before I can run. I've always been the gear buyer. Selling is new to me. I'm making an honest effort.
I am not the incorrigable gear whore that some may think of me.
I got here over 10 years of well intentioned frivolity.
I'm first and foremost a musician, artist & home recording/producing hobbiest and die hard fanatic, trying to regain my focus.
I'm not a collector for the sake of collecting. Not a keep-it-under-glass-display collector.

I'm just tossing these ideas out there. FYI. Thanks for reading and/or following my posts.
When I've exhausted this venue & gotten more organized, I'll be hitting the hardcore eBay/Craigslist scene.

Good Morning!
