Anyone Familiar With Lapel Mics?

Can't get ours to work without what I will refer to as "channel Noise", a loud hissing noise.

We can speak into it & hear it, but it is always getting that noise as well.

We have tried adjusting the squelch on the base and the fannypack, have moved the receiver to different locations.

It's a good AKG mic, brand new.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Is there a gain control on the transmitter pack? It may just look like a little hole and need a small screwdriver to adjust. If that's not the problem, is there a frequency adjustment (for the radio frequency)? It could need fine tuning. Otherwise, the unit is broken - Take it back.

Do you have 2 of them? Try changing out the mics and transmitters if they are adjustable. See if you can isolate the problem.
