Does anyone have any good reverb suggestions for LE on PC?

Thanks,
Jeremy

I'm also editing some narrations generously donated by a fairly well known artist and recorded on his TDM system. I opened the files in LE and...wow...crisp, clear, clean. I don't know what signal chain he was using, but just the quality of silence in his voice overs blows away what I've been able to get. Maybe that's just that my rooms aren't treated that well at all...
Well, you nailed it there. Signal chain and room tone. That's 95% of the reason professional recordings sound better... they start better.

The main things I like about my TDM system are stability and sheer processing power. It will always give me _x_ amount of plugins and tracks, no matter what. I like that, and I like it being rock solid. The clock on the 888 might be a little more stable than the 001, but as far as I can tell, they sound pretty much the same. I do have access to better plugins on the Mac/TDM side though--Access Virus is a killer softsynth, and I just like the McDSP plugins better than any other EQ or compressor plugins I've heard, except for maybe the Sony Oxford/GML plugs...

If you're looking for low cost plug-ins... the Waves Renaissance Pack (pack I, not pack II) has a good reverb in it.... if you wanna go all out and get some really great reverb... then get Alti-Verb.

Ren Verb sounds really great, but it's a monster CPU hog. You can also get decent results using TrueVerb, another Waves plugin that emulates rooms really well. Kind of Loud's RealVerb is excellent, not sure if that's on PC yet. I have a kind of soft spot for D-Verb, though. Mix it in low, mess with the settings enough, and its really usable.

Definetely Altiverb!! By Audio Ease. Beautiful natural sounding reverb. Although, I'm not sure that this plug in is available for pc users yet. Wouldn't that suck? :D

Suck it does. Altiverb is coded around a G4 specific coprocessor so it likely never will be availible on PC.

Calm down, guys. There is a lot of software out there that does the same thing. Altiverb is a "convolution" reverb. That means it creates its reverb sound using acoustic impulses. Sonic Foundry's Acoustic Mirror does the same thing. So does SIR, and Magix's V7. I imagine there are a lot more out there that I don't know about. The coolest thing about convolution reverbs are that you can go out on the web and find thousands of sampled impulses to use with your plugin... people have sampled everything from their bathrooms to high-end classic Lexicon boxes. It's pretty much the ultimate reverb technology. Not sure what (if anything) is available for the Pro Tools PC/RTAS, but I'm sure it will be there soon...
